Orphanage Schools in Kenya and Ethiopia

About the project

Our first project was a new program for children of war torn nation of South Sudan, ages under 15 years old. In addition to the long-lasting impact of the catastrophic civil war in 2013, schools for orphanage are severely lacking. The missing in basic supplies of educational tools like stationary, mathematical equipment, and classroom equipment.

Starting point

The first step to understand the scope of the project was to learn what shaped a child's learning experience in Africa and to find out how we could make improvements.

Support from local communities

Location, scale, and accessibility was absolutely crucial to this project. We wanted to make the biggest but most realistic impact to the educational landscape for orphans in Kenya and Ethiopia.

End result

Contextualizing the needs of schoolchildren, their parents, and their educators helped us to construct a well-equipped, bright, and accessible place of learning with the collaboration with Catholic's St. Gabriel Girls Academy.
